Museum Opens
Fun day at grand opening!
NORTH CANAAN - Hundreds of visitors flocked to the restored Union Depot for a look at the railway museum and to celebrate the building’s reopening on Saturday, Nov. 9.
A blaze in 2001 had reduced the old depot to ashes, but residents determined that it would be rebuilt. Years passed before federal funds could be obtained for the project. The job finally went out for bid in 2014.
“It’s fantastic,” said First Selectman Charles Perotti. “It’s been a long time coming.”
